The first instalment of our three-part Spring Style Guide features trends and pieces for babies from local and Canadian brands to go “googoo” and “gaga” over!

Just because our Canadian groundhogs couldn’t make up their minds, doesn’t mean we are also sitting on the fence: bring on spring! It’s just around the corner and we at yoyomama headquarters can’t wait for the late sunrises and early nights to be over! To help get us in the spirit, we’ve rounded up three of our favorite trends for the diapered set and we can’t wait to show you what spring has in store for the little runway.

Flower Child

One of our favorite trends for the upcoming season is influenced by the hippies of the ‘70s. Embroidered boho fabrics and hippie hues make these free-spirited pieces super adorable and easy to wear:

The felt flower headband from giddyupandgrow ($27.99) is a perfect accessory for your haute hippie. While the season is still warming up, The Traveler’s Dress ($40.00 from emerson apparel) will pair up nicely with some leggings and these fringe-worthy Kangaroo moccasins from Minimoc ($45.00).

Wild Ones

A combination of animal and woodland prints and colours, babies will be getting back to nature with these wildly cute looks. This dual-purpose bandana bib from mini moche ($19.99) not only has a family of friendly foxes, but you can also attach your baby’s favorite paci to it so it doesn’t get lost. The Mountain print french terry raglan ($33.00 from mini moche) is a great layering piece for those sunny (but cold) morning walks and this kid-friendly belt from Monkey & Peanut ($24.00) will ensure that their pants will stay snug and fitted! And these handmade bunny slippers from Cate & Levi will keep their toes toasty and adorable ($35.00 from mini moche.

Neutral Territory

Thanks to the simplicity of neutral colours, basics will always be in style! These solid stand-alones will pair up nicely with any current trend, easily making them must-have’s in any season and a great investment for your always-growing little ones:

Once the frost has melted and the flowers start peeking through, we can’t wait to fashion our tiny trendsetters with these fabulous Canadian-made designs!
