Garden Light Festival at Bear Creek Park
November 8th – 9th, 5 pm – 8 pm, Bear Creek Park, 13750 88 Avenue, Surrey
The City of Surrey and Telus PureFibre invite you to come on out for some free family entertainment! The trails and the trees will be illuminated for two nights this year. Grab a hot drink, make a lantern and prepare to be wowed as you wander through an ever-changing display of colours! Activities include face painting, photo booth, lantern crafts, illumination board, and food trucks. Don’t forget to pack a flashlight and dress for the weather – rain or shine (extreme weather exceptions).

Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival
November 18th & 19th, various locations in the Fraser Valley
The enormously popular Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival occurs the third weekend in November in perhaps the most biologically diverse and important areas in British Columbia. From Mission to Harrison Mills, many exciting venues offer excellent eagle watching opportunities and a range of activities and adventures that include jet boat eagle watching safaris; walking tours; a diverse abundance of local wildlife; environmental presentations, naturalists and interpreters; historic and ancient aboriginal sites; wildlife & artistic displays; and lots of hands-on activities and entertainment.

18th Annual Hyde Creek Salmon Festival
November 19th, 11 am – 3 pm, Hyde Creek Education Centre & Hatchery, 3636 Coast Meridian Road, Port Coquitlam
Join the 5,000 plus visitors from around the Lower Mainland who come out to celebrate and witness the return of thousands of salmon back to their birthplace to lay and fertilize their eggs. Spawning time is the end of the lifespan of these Coho & Chum salmon, and the beginning of the next generation. This FREE family event provides visitors of all ages the opportunity to observe salmon up close and learn about their life cycle through educational displays, salmon dissection, and in-stream demonstrations. Come out for a day of exploring, experiencing and learning about the salmon and wildlife in a fish-bearing watershed.

Vancouver Train Expo – British Columbia’s biggest train show!
November 11th – 12th, 10 am – 6 pm, PNE Forum, 2901 East Hastings Street, Vancouver
Vancouver Train Expo 2017 makes tracks for the Forum at the Pacific National Exhibition November 11th and 12th for the 35th Annual Expo of everything to do with model trains. This year over 60 exhibitors will be on hand with meticulous recreations of trains running through majestic mountain trails and oceanscapes, cities, and landscapes, past and present. Kids and families will love the hands-on experiences of running their own railway empire, likely something they haven’t experienced before. Of course, what would a train expo be without mini rail train rides for the kids, LEGO displays and a children’s activity area where you can play with trains. Come and see the many facets the hobby of model railroading offers. It’s three-dimensional art in motion, it’s robotics and it’s a great way for the family to spend a November day!

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Will’s Jams Live Multimedia Show – Vancouver

Vancouver Aquarium: Steller’s Bay

Get closer to Steller sea lions than ever before at the new Steller’s Bay. Come nose to snout with these amazing and expressive creatures in our new underwater viewing area and watch as they take part in important research to help uncover why their numbers have declined in the wild. With a huge, new underwater viewing area in Steller’s Bay, get up close with these mysterious creatures. Watch the Steller sea lions dive, feed, and interact with each other from below the surface of the water. Make sure to snap a Sea Lion Selfie during your visit!
