When the weather is dreary there is nothing more we’d rather do than sip on some warm tea and enjoy dainty, delicious sandwiches and pastries with our favourite people – our kiddos! It’s an opportunity to unwind, slow down, and catch up. Here are 7 high tea spots in Metro Vancouver that are great for kids and adults alike. They all offer a special high tea menu just for kids that include fun sandwiches and mini treats.
We highly recommend calling and placing a reservation for your high tea experience as many of these venues have a limited number of high tea seatings each day.

2138 West 40th, Vancouver
The Secret Garden is one of our very favourite places to have tea, with or without our kids. The charming interior is full of beautiful touches, like the intricate desserts, the tiered platters, and unique teacups. Their children’s high tea is $23 and is great for kids 7 and under. They’ll get to eat tasty bites like a banana and jam pinwheel and a double chocolate fondant tart. Your kids can enjoy tea, hot chocolate or juice with their treats. The Secret Garden Tea Company has three seatings per day, seven days a week. The menu is updated monthly – so you have all the reason to go back again and again – and includes both vegetarian and gluten-free options. There is also a wide variety of caffeine-free tea options, which is great for the kiddos and expecting mamas. Reservations: 604-261-3070. secretgardentea.com
