The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is turning 50 years old and they need your help blowing out the candles! On October 20th and 21st, the Space Centre will have some extra special programming at an extra special price – $5 general admission and kids under 5 get in for free.
Bring the entire family out and discover all about the past 50 years of science and space education as the Space Centre pulls some gems from their archives. Take a journey into the past and explore how producing shows in the planetarium has changed over the decades. Share your memories of the Space Centre on their memory wall, and create a card for Canadian astronaut David Saint-Jacques as he prepares for his mission to the International Space Station in December. Your knowledge will be tested with trivia questions before each show in the Planetarium Star Theatre, and we’ll have a birthday treat for all to eat. We’re crossing our fingers the treat includes freeze-dried astronaut ice cream!
The Space Centre will be open from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday for the celebration with activities running from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm.
