My mission to share the lessons I have learned with others who are facing similar challenges. I intend to contribute my support, encouragement and strategies for those struggling to stand in their “Why” and find sustainability with a Holistic Lifestyle.

Did you imagine that you’d be a mom at the age that you became a mom?

Truthfully, I never thought I would be a mom. I was always extremely career focused and it was not top of mind for me. However, I am so happy I did as I now understand  the fierce love and care that parents give in providing for their child/children.  And that love has made me a more open, empathetic person.

Describe your children in a single sentence.

Mekaella is compassionate, kind, outgoing and a born leader.

How have you changed as a person since becoming a mom?

I have become far more patient and relaxed. Additionally, I also understand that ideas that we often see as never wavering can change in time.

What has been the hardest thing about being a mom?

It is a big challenge in launching a new business with working full time and being an engaged supportive mom to a pre-teen daughter.  Co-vid has shut off the support of my mom who would fly in frequently.  Like most single moms, the pressures of the unknown with school, lack of sports, at home learning, and a small bubble of contacts, I take one day at a time, grateful for what we have – and for family zoom calls!

What do you love most about being a mom?

I love how Mekaella is my teacher and my constant reminder to stay present.

Do you have a favourite family activity?

We love doing family fitness together and skiing.

What advice can you give our mama readers?

One thing that I have found important is to be able to recognize when you have not had stellar parenting moments and apologize to your kids. I believe it teaches them that we as parents can mess up and by being humble and asking for forgiveness is something we all have to do.
