It’s time for another fabulous summer weekend in Metro Vancouver! There are a ton of great family-friendly events happening around town. Look to the sky for awesome airplane acrobatics at the Abbotsford International Airshow, celebrate farming in Richmond, or take part in an awesome water fight in Coquitlam. Abbotsford International Airshow

7th Annual North Delta Show & Shine

Into its 7th year, the North Delta Show & Shine gets bigger and better each time! Check out dozens of classic and vintage cars, have a bite to eat at the food truck, and enjoy music by a live DJ.

Farm Fest at Garden City Lands
Saturday, August 11th, 10 am – 3 pm, Garden City Lands, 5040 Garden City Road, Richmond
Richmond is celebrating Farm Fest at Garden City Lands on Saturday, August 11 with a free family-friendly event that includes a farmers market with over 40 artisan vendors, farm demonstrations, interactive farm equipment, food trucks, local musicians, and children’s entertainment. The free public celebration will highlight the history and importance of farming in Richmond as well as the continued development of Garden City Lands.

Geocaching Scavenger Hunt
Saturday, August 11th 10 am – 2 pm, Clayton Park, 18513 70 Avenue, Surrey

Vancouver Mural Festival Street Party

Savour the flavours of the local food trucks that will deliver tastes from around the world. There will be plenty of activity for children, too, including arts and crafts and performances that will pique their imagination.

Meteor Shower Watch

What is the Perseids meteor shower? Is Pluto a planet? Find out from astronomers and space enthusiasts who will have telescopes aimed at the skies. Enjoy lantern-lit trails, games, crafts, blacklight theatres and fun activities from Science World, H.R. Macmillan Space Centre, Langley Environmental Partners Society, and many others. Blueberry Festival Coquitlam

Beach Heroes at Blackie Spit
Sunday, August 12th, 11 am – 3 pm, Blackie Spit, 3136 McBride Avenue, Surrey
Beach Hero Marine Interpreters will be set up at Blackie Spit Park, near the pier from 11 am to 3 pm. Come by and check out the crab tank and marine artifacts while learning about local marine life and how to do your part to be a beach hero. Join them for a beach walk and guided exploration at 1 pm! Look for their orange shirts and blue tent set up!
